Sound Absorption
APIC Building Blankets reduce external noise such as rain or hail drumming, more so, if they are installed tight against the underside of the roofing material.  This creates a more pleasant internal environment within the structure.

Moisture Absorption
When a dry specimen is placed in conditions of 95 percent relative humidity at 50°C (120°F) for 96 hours.  Moisture absorption is less than 0.2 percent by volume.

The Rating Performance
Unfaced Building Blankets are non-combustible and non-flammable as defined by combustibility test of AS A30, 1958, Sec. 1 conducted by commonwealth experimental Building station, North ryde, NSW and UL Classification Marking not exceeding FHC 25/50 November 6, 1986.

Early Fire Hazard Test
APIC GLASSWOOL products are tested in accordance with B.S. 476 Parts 5, b and 7 with Class "O" Fire Rating under the Building regulations Section E 15.

Early Fire Hazard Test in accordance with Australian Standard 1530 part 3-1982 and Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. (UL 723, ASTM E - 84) Sixth Edition.

Type of Vapour Barrier
When required, vapour barriers can be either adhered or rolled-in loosely with APIC BUILDING BLANKETS.  Recommended vapour barrier is the Foil Skrim Kraft (FSK), a lightweight single-sided, fire-rated aluminum foil bonded by polyethelene to a heavy duty Kraft laminating paper with glass fibre reinforcements. back to top
