Removing Dust and Loose  Dirt.
Dust and loose dirt may easily be removed by brushing or vacuum cleaner.  Vacuum cleaner attachments such as those designed for cleaning upholstery or walls do the best job.  Be certain to clean in one direction only.

Cleaning-Spots, Dirt Marks.
Use soft art gum eraser to remove small spots, dirt marks and streaks. For larger areas, use a sponge rubber pad, or wallpaper cleaner. Make sure the sponge rubber pad or wallpaper cleaner is in fresh condition.

Washing
Do not moisten sheets excessively.  Wash by light application of sponge dampened by mild liquid detergent solution: about one half capful in one gallon water. After saturating the sponge, squeeze nearly dry, then lightly rub the surface to be cleaned.

Painting Recommendation Precaution
Hardiflex sheets must have a minimum of two site coasts of acrylic/latex paint applied after fixing.  Coating should be completed within one(1) month of sheet erection.

Use only quality 100% acrylic/latex paints.  Economy paints are not recommended because generally they are less well bound, less moisture resistant and more prone to mould growth.  In all cases, the paint manufacturer's specification for the selected paint must be followed.  Note that some paints require an undercoat before applying the finish coat.

Damp, shady situations, agricultural or sea spray environments may induce an extra tendency for mould growth.  Use mould inhibiting and alkaline resistant undercoats and consult the paint manufacturer for maximum mould resistant paints.

Hardiflex sheets must have an unsanded finish suitable for semi - gloss acrylics or textured coatings.

Before painting, remove any surface dirt, grime or other contaminants with a soft brush.  Be sure that the sheets are dry prior to painting.
