Definition of Terms

 NRC (Noise Reduction Coefficient)
A measure of sound absorbed by a material. The single number designation represents the average of the sound absorption coefficients of a material at 250 Hz, 500 Hz, 1000 Hz, and 2000 Hz rounded to the nearest 0.05 when tested in accordance with ASTM C 423. Acoustical performance is Classified by Underwriters Laboratories Inc.

 CAC (Ceiling Attenuation Class)
A measure of reduction in sound transmission via plenum path between two rooms determined in accordance with ASTM e 1414, and plotting decibel reduction (transmission loss) obtained at 16 frequencies against a standard reference curve, in accordance with ASTM e 413. Acoustical performance is Classified by Underwriters Laboratories Inc.

 LR (Light Reflectance)
The number designation indicating the percentage of light reflected from a ceiling product's surface, in accordance with ASTM e1477.

 PlastiGard™ (PG)
An optional acrylic finish providing a scrubbable/washable surface. Available for use on select products. 

 Integral Core Color
The addition of specific coloring agents to cast core ceiling panels to closely match the top quality surface coating color. This process keeps the colored panels beautiful longer by visually minimizing unsightly nicks and scratches that occur during the life of the ceiling.

 BioShield™
Mold and mildew guard. An optional clear acrylic finish that protects against surface growth of mold and mildew. Available for use on specific products. 

 Distribution Network
Acoustic ceiling products are readily available through an extensive distribution network both within the United States and internationally. Most of the products are available in metric sizes.

 Colors
Product illustrations have been reproduced with all the color fidelity possible with electronic publishing processes. For accuracy in color matching, actual product samples should be examined. 

 NOTE: For Colortone products, do not mix lot numbers within the same room or ceiling area.
